Kerry(aka ketchup head) Goes Back on His Word
Posted April 20, 2004

On Sunday on NBC's Meet the Press, Sen. John Kerry was asked if he would follow President George W. Bush's lead and release all of his military records. "I have," Kerry responded. "I've shown them -- they're available for you to come and look at." He added that "people can come and see them at headquarters."

But when a reporter tried to take Kerry up on the open invitation to review those records yesterday, he was turned away by the Kerry campaign and told that the senator would not be releasing additional military records [see today's Boston Globe report, "Kerry Refuses to Release More Records"].

The controversy surrounding Kerry's military records centers on the questionable circumstances under which Kerry received three Purple Hearts, as reported by Insight associate reporter Stephen Crump [see "Purple Hearts: Three and Out"]. Also read the tough questions that Insight's editor has for Kerry.
