Yes Alan, I would totally agree with you on this issue. I am a naturalized citizen. I "chose" to be a citizen out of my own free will because I love the ideals for which this nation stands. When I was flying into this country for the first time, as my aircraft was banking to land in New York city, I looked out the window into the morning sunrise and the first building I saw were the twin towers etched in my memory. And my first impression "the might of the US" as I saw those towers. None the same, I watched it live on CNBC when the second plane hit the tower and was all aghast to watch live on TV the towers collapse.

But today I am angry at Bush for not having pursued the SOB OBL. In the same vein I will never forgive Bush for not having crushed all those madrassa in Pakistan. These madrassas are the breeding ground for terrorists. Instead he makes peace with Pakistan and turns his attention towards Saddam, who was already contained.

So going back to AS, I would say that as an American citizen, I wouldn't mind if others criticized us so that we can improve. That is what I liked most about the American society in the country I grew up. Those expatriate Americans were always willing to listen and correct themselves. Those days of Ike, Kennedy etc. But then somehow those turned to malicious and destructive criticism of the US resulting in hatred and the collapse of WTC. And that is what I am against. I don't think AS, presuming he is not a US citizen, is criticizing to bring the US down.

But again only AS can address that and not me.
