There were several non-partisan groups that went in for the recount and determined Bush won clean. You can bet your ass that had it gone the other way Al Gore and the rest of the democrats would have been screaming "no fair" for 4 years.

They stopped the Florida Supremes from making rules on the fly. There was a period of time that votes could be counted and the Florida Supreme court (AKA liberal activists) tried to create new rules on the fly to benefit Gore.
