Cleaning up in China
Anguil Environmental lands pollution control pacts in Asia
Rich Rovito
China's fast-growing economy is generating work for Anguil Environmental Systems Inc., which has landed a $1.5 million contract to produce air pollution control equipment for a semiconductor plant there.

Anguil Environmental, Brown Deer, will produce a custom-engineered system to control pollution at a semiconductor plant being built in China by Korea-based Hyundai Electronics Industries Co.

Four Anguil employees who are overseeing the project traveled to China the week of April 12 for a "kick-off" meeting to discuss project details with the customer, said Anguil president and founder Gene Anguil.

"China has a number of challenges," he said. "Air pollution control is a significant problem."

Anguil also recently won two orders, valued at $850,000 each, to design pollution control systems for semiconductor plants in Taiwan.

Pollution issues were a topic of conversation among Wisconsin business representatives who participated in a trade mission to China last month with Gov. Jim Doyle.
