Most of Florida had no problems in the past two election cycles. Three counties, all controlled by Democrats, had problems in 2000.

Voting should be a non-partisan operation. Clearly Harris over stepped her authority by axing black voters who had no records from the rolls. She ought to be in prison for that activity.

As for the punch cards, they are straight forward when handled properly. But they are prone to errors. There are errors that can be made by mis-handling the cards, moisture in the air can cause a weakening of chads. Still worse, if the voting machines are not properly maintained, and cleaned out of chad that have been punched in previous elections the chad can build up and prevent the stylus from penetrating the cards, creating a dimpled or hanging chad.

Then the card readers are not perfect either. There is a certain machine counting error which is unavoidable. In most cases the margin of error is much less that the difference between candidates. In cases with small differences in the machine counts hand counts are supposed to be mandatory by law.

The best ballots are probably hand marked mark sense ballots. They can be read by machine or by hand easily. Diebold voting machines should all be thrown into the sea. I want a hard copy for elections...not magnetic sums.
