The futures had an extra 15 min. of selling at the close.

Some of that reversed after they opened for trading again.

S&P futures are still trading at a discount to cash and the NDX futures are slightly north of cash.

SPY seems to be trading slightly over SPX cash and QQQ slightly under NDX cash.

No big thing .. Just that the futures could be slightly green and still be low enough to trigger sell programs at the open.

how come futures are green?

Average bar length on the SP futures, except when price is dead sideways, tends to be around 1 - 1.5 points on 5 minute bars. ES/SP futures are up 2.25 points. Not unusual after a big parabolic sell off. Essentially meaningless, wait for the open.

More important than anything else, supply and demand and next to zero volume overnight.

trendvue.com

Bored souls trading 24 hours a day making their own mini market. Volume is so low it really is probably a dozen or so guys and gals in their underpants around the world trying to get a jump on the open tomorrow, hoping to have bought the absolute bottom or get ahead of the game in selling.

Like any of them know what is going to happen. Spin the dial, take yer chance.

(any other futures traders here? a couple of us could push the overnight market down 10 NQ points by leaning on Sell at the same time.

Professional Stuntman. Closed course. Do not try this at home.)

>> how come futures are green? <<

Cause MOT said the World was round and they sold $8.6bil in stuff to prove it...LOL...

Actually it looks like a reflex bounce from the 90min free fall from Mr. Market...

I think SPX 1110ish is in the cards, but then again they could be coaching Greenie in the "green room" right now to come out and say something opposite from what he said today...LOL...

Today he said "Banks will survive a rate hike" and "Deflation worries are over"...

Tomorrow he says???
