A purple heart requires an injury caused by a DIRECT hit from enemy fire. John Kerry's injuries were ALL SELF REPORTRED and he spent NO TIME IN HOSPITAL for those. All the Vietnam vets I know say they are very suspicious about his Vietnam awards.
