Scooter,

<What is it going to take for us to realize we are watching the greatest player in the history of
baseball?>

It's the same reason I never got excited about Mark McGuire...those guys, including Bonds did it with some help. They already had the gift of great eyesight, fast hands, etc. when you combine the enhancers (steriods) they were awesome.....however, a Mays, Williams, Mantle, Ruth, Cobb, Jackson, Aaron, McCovey, Yastremski, Maris, Dimaggio,Bench just to name a few, did it naturally. Those guys I can get excited about! The Maguire's Bonds and Sheffield don't do anything for me in the context of a tradition of baseball...to me, they are not the real deal. If folks get excited about Bonds, more power to them...enjoy the ride - however, I think they are watching something different in terms of braking a record. The irony is they probably could have done almost as well without the "help".

Thanks. I think they mean he has won 3 more MVPs than Mays et al. He's won it 5 times.
