Apparently Sharon isn't... He's already stated that these settlements would be Israeli territory. Non-negotiable, except to final borders

You are conflating two issues - where the borders will be, and will Palestine accept any Jews. The answer to the second is NO, and always had been.

As for negotiations, Sharon would be happy to negotiate, there is just a basic disagreement about what negotiations consist of. The Israelis think it consists of talking. Arafat thinks it consists of sending suicide bombers and collecting concessions.

Because Sharon's decision will empower Hamas and the other miltants to carry on their struggle

As opposed to $#%^@! what?! What we have now? Don't you think Arafat's decisions had more weight here?

I don't acquiese to that.. So it's not everyone

Thanks, but with due respect, your diplomatic clout is limited.

After all, what's to stop some extremist government to tell Israeli Arabs to forcibly be moved to Palestine?

The wishes of the Israeli people. It's a democracy.

Israel's strategy seems hell-bent upon enraging an entire region against them by creating the conditions of perpetual hatred and warfare against them

That's what they say about the US too, after 9/11. But in this case I notice you don't blame the victim. Just in Israel's. It's not like Israel doesn't want a peace treaty, or has refused negotiations.

I've lurked with fascination the lengthy discussion that you and Nadine have had concerning Israel and Palestine. I congratulate you both for doing so civilly and rationally. The points you both have made are uniformly excellent.
