The territory in question does offer a security advantage, and anything Israel does will be attacked as a land grab, even when the build the fense right on the Green Line it is attacked there too with sob stories. And do you miss the fact that the only reason fanatics like this get an audience is because their secular leaders, and every other political and economic process, continues to fail them? Those secular leaders (Arafat) have shown that they are just as committed as the fanatics to the destruction of Israel. They will take no deal that leaves Israel standing. So should Israel continue to offer olive branches to non-existent moderates, or worry about its own defenses?
