That war was lost in Washington.

The people that protested saved thousands of lives.

The Vietnam War was lost already. Like Iraq, there was no plan, no mission and the war was based on lies to begin with. Worse than Iraq, morale was piss poor and the troops were all going nuts. Like Iraq, Halliburton's Brown + Root and Bectel were making billions while our troops died and the tax-payers got put deeply into hock. All for a war which didn't even need to be fought in the first place. Kerry did a very brave and important thing by helping to end the war when he did. By 1971 anyone with a brain knew it should end but the Nixonites needed a big push.
