Market is holding together, might as well write something here

On the Iraeli / Palistinian problem.

Israel is where the East meets the West.

Although the Weat is not all on the side of Israel, a guilty conscience prevents them from demanding outright that Israel behave in a different way.

The East holds up the poverty ridden, downtrodden Pals as
an example of how Westerners would treat all ME people if they had the opportunity. And the worse the Palestinians appear to be treated the happier and more correct the Easterners could claim to be.

Neither of these beliefs are true, the West would not and does not treat all Easterners as the Pals appear to be treated. And the Pals are "asking for it" , making their own situation look as bad as possible in attempts to elicit sympathy and funding.

The problem carrys too much press coverage with one exception , which is that the East would use a forceful solution by Israel as an excuse to ignite a major conflagration, perhaps not militarily since they have little to work with, but verbally by banding together against the West.

Israel with arguments over boundaries is IMO not a proper place to use as an example of East-West relations or national characteristics or a proper ignition point for a conflict.

The US should hang back as much as possible from commenting on the dispute.
