I'm definitely going to vote for Kerry this fall. Voting for Bush is like voting for Adolph Hitler. It's gotten that bad in this country. I mean, we on the left could make fun of Reagan and all, but he was rather benign compared to Bush and the brownshirt neocons who surround him. These people have proven that they believe in agressive and unprovoked wars, have little regard for the Constitution and Democracy that underpins it. Kerry would be a real breath of fresh air compared to Der Furer who jokes about being dictator and is doing every possible thing regressive he can think of (like destroying the environment).

I tell you what, Nader was a fool for not bowing out in 2000 in exchange for a job as EPA Administrator in the Gore Adminstration. That would have sealed Gore's victory. How could Naderites not vote for Gore if he promised to put Nader in as EPA Chief? Both Gore and Nader were fools for not doing such a brilliant poltical move. I argued with Greens tirelessly about how bad George W. would be for the environmental movement, all you had to do was look at his horrible record in Texas, but they didn't listen. They all said the Dems were bad too. Gore would have been the closest thing to an environmentalist in the White House ever, and the Greens blew it.

We pay well north of $3.00/gallon for gas when defense costs are factored in (perhaps $4.00+ with this whole mess we've gotten into in Iraq). Eventually we're going to have to kick our oil habit if we like it or not. I see that day of reckoning coming in the next 20 years, possibly sooner as oil consumption is rising and it's unclear if production has peaked.

Did you hear that Gov. Schwartzenger kicked off the Cali Hydrogen Highway today. :-) That's a move in the right direction.
