"The whole moral basis of American culture stems from a repudiation of many biblical concepts of morality and the substitution of humanistic/rational dicta."

Humanism has simply cherry picked the things it likes from Christianity and then claimed them as it's own. There is actually no reason to choose freedom over slavery if as you say "Human Beings decide what is moral". Humanism wants to maintain radical individualistic freedom while at the same time imposing it's own dogma onto the unwashed masses. Humanism is doomed to fail because people are smart enough to realize that if there is no ultimate authority then they are free to do whatever they want. Homosexuality is on the verge of gaining widespread acceptance, whereas it was considered immoral only a generation ago. Today you are labeled homophobic if you dare to speak against it. Soon you will be labeled a pedophobe if you dare to speak against the molestation of children. The sexual revolution is apparently just getting started. It's easy to tear things down; much harder to start from nothing and end up with something. As Dostoevsky said if there is no God then all things are permitted. Humanism has no answer to this dilemma. We are simply waiting for the next shoe to drop.

Some human beings have decided that molesting children is the moral thing to do, and some have decided it is not. The difference according to your philosophical construct is no more than the difference between chocolate and vanilla. Mob rule morality is fine if that's what you want, but you have no basis to call anything actually wrong. Yet surprise surprise, the Humanism god has it's own list of things it considers to be exactly that. God is seen as evil and intolerant and He will not be tolerated; ahh...right. Fine, but ideas have consequences and we are only beginning to see the results of the grand experiment.

"With luck and proper leadership, they can generally be allowed out after dark."

What good is it to be allowed out if it's not safe?
