He sees a deflationary collapse.

People cashing out, industrial production dropping, a speculative bubble in commodities collapsing.

I think you're both right up to a point, but shortages of raw materials are also real. Lower prices will encourage more waste and a hastening of an eventual squeeze. Once one commodity squeezes for real (copper?), the others may follow suit in a hurry.

I'm sitting on 30% cash (well, 35% now, LOL) and can ride out some short term madness waiting....

And wait I will.
