The asymmetry is breathtaking. For years, Palestinians have targeted civilians, including the deliberate targeting of schoolchildren, and, with the innovation of the suicide bombers, have improved their murderous efficiency. Meanwhile, large sectors of the Palestinian population teach that it is good to emulate the "martyrs", cheer them along, and give them aid. They disseminate "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" and recycle old Nazi propaganda. They continue to speak of driving the Israeli Jews into the sea. Jews, meanwhile, have become somewhat dubious about the Palestinians, and regard them as fanatic and dangerous. Hmmmm.....I wonder where they got that idea?

Certainly it is a goal of the extreme fundamentalists but you make it sound like this is part of the Arab/Islamist culture which it certainly isn't. If all future negotiations for peace in every conflict were discontinued because of Chamberlain's failure, what a different world we'd be living in today!
