Luncheon group member normally must table one good idea each, and recently, except for one character, all admit "I have no good ideas", and the one exception is a raving Asia tech bull, now hot on Chinese agricultural shares, i.e. finance.yahoo.com . Last year I felt like a genius, the bubbliest of the group even though I like to tell scary stories. This year, lunch is a quiet affair, and all the whip-sawed are retreating to the side, scared. A few weeks earlier, one big money manager (1.5 bil), normally very very good and very steady, had made a good case to short this baby uk.finance.yahoo.com based on currency and accounting issues, alas at AUD 2.60. Whipped silly. Ouch. Brutal year. J
