Perhaps not merge, but growing very close, to share in medical service and such. How sweet. You've got to be kidding me. Like, THAT was what Palestinians should have aspired to... I started reading your link, but I gave up, and I'm sorry, I think it's garbage. For instance, "What really happened was that the Zionist movement, from the beginning, looked forward to a practically complete dispossession of the indigenous Arab population so that Israel could be a wholly Jewish state." And? How is that "garbage"? Is it news to you that the Zionist movement meant to create a totally Jewish state? Was it not Israel's 1st President Chaim Weizmann who said "Palestine will be as Jewish as England is English"??? Have you even taken a look at the British Mandate? Article 2 required the Mandatory to “place the country under such political, administrative, and economic conditions as will secure the establishment of a Jewish National Home”. Article 4 provided that “an appropriate Jewish Agency shall be recognized as a public body for the purpose of advising and cooperating with the administration”. Article 6 asks the Mandatory to “facilitate Jewish immigration and encourage close settlement by Jews on the land”. The Arabs, by far the majority of the population, are never mentioned, except in peripheral references to “other sectors of the population” or “various peoples and communities”. So, really, what on earth are you talking about? :-)
