Many are infected with SARS CoVs that are not readily detected because the patients are not tested. The number of people with SARS CoV antibodies is high (especially those who work in live markets), and the virus mutates. It is still EMERGING and has many tricks to play.

Speaking of tricks to play, the current SARS outbreak links back to the CDC lab in Beijing, but the two lab workers developed symptoms about a month apart. Interestingly, the lab they worked in tests specimens, which is a likely source of infectious SARS virus. However, prior to the latest incidents, there were no reported positive specimens in China
