Credit Suisse First Boston said Celestica (nyse: CLS - news - people ) provided "phenomenal" first-quarter earnings and second-quarter guidance. CSFB raised its earnings estimate for 2004 to 45 cents per share from 15 cents and lifted the 2005 estimate to $1.00 from 75 cents, citing progress in organic revenue growth and margins. The research firm also lifted the 12-month target price to $25 from $22. Communications operations in the first quarter "delivered the needed revenue momentum," CSFB said, driven by top customers Lucent Technologies (nyse: LU - news - people ) and Cisco Systems (nasdaq: CSCO - news - people ). CSFB said, "We continue to believe the telecom segment will outperform in 2004, and Celestica's strong position in the wireless and optical segments should serve it disproportionately well." <
