Why is it that a relatively low level official was running the government and making these decisions? That's not his job?

Why wasn't Shrub in charge? Well, ok he was somewhere;Fla, in the air, where-ever, so he might not be able to manage the crisis (although the prez could run things from AF-1) .
But why didn't Cheney take over? Too busy hiding in a bunker. Why not the Sec. Def? Why not Powell, for that matter, doing an Al Haig imitation.
If you try and blame things on
Clarke, blame the people who let him do their jobs.
And,when you answer,l could you try not to yell? I;m only a room away.

Dear Westera:

That latest Vanity Fair article had some other interesting things. It did in fact talk about the MOVE ONE ORG, that you had written to me about in a more negative way. And It had an editorial by the Publisher that I concurred with completely. I hope that you read everything in that issue as it was quite politically oriented. You see for everything each of us believes we can find evidence to support it. To try to ascertain fact from fiction, however, agendas... biases, pay-offs that's the crux of the matter. It is hard to consider the source when one doesn't even know what that source is... How accurate the reporting.

For example, last night Joey Reynolds said he objected to anyone reporting anything if he hasn't been there, witnessed it and been inbedded so to speak. Yet we are preventing our reporters from being in Iraq to witness the battles... We don't have anyone able to get into Cuba and where the detainees are, we are not permitted to see the return of the coffins. And when one says wounded, the severity of the wounds in this war surmount any in wars previously. It's arms off, legs off, faces destroyed. Wounded is just a word. WHAT kinds of wound and how much will this soldier suffer the rest of his life.

I really belive we are being protected by big brother from the negative or anything that will bring reality home to us.

Therefore, what is the solution. You certainly are strong in your convictions and deservedly so, but there are others who can find as much evidence to the contrary to balance out what you believe. And so it is.
