when a professional expresses an opinion, it's usually a good idea to listen.

I believe that as well, and post here fully aware of my responsibility in representing working pros. When it comes to gear, I listen to those who work their toys to death. Half a dozen or so friends do that, day and night. Talking toys is a disease among pros, so I get to hear a lot, then blab about it here. Trickle down toy talk. Glad it works for you. (g)

Takes on a whole new meaning in the digital age. End of my film days I had a camera bag with two cameras, lenses, 1600 color neg film, extra batteries. After I rewound the film, labs did the rest. Now subtract labs, add a backpack with two laptops, two small external drives, two card readers — on location. Add two huge drives for deep storage — one home, one off site. All "basic lab work" gets done by me, often on location. Most "post-processing lab work" gets done by me, sometimes on location. Next week, for example, I'll cover three plays, non-stop Wednesday to Wednesday, noon to midnight, including "lab work" as I go, somehow, gots to. It's a whole new ballgame. Everything is now under my control, my responsibility. So I need at least two of most everything, including "the lab" and hours in a day. (g)
