APO's are Army Post Offices and FPO's are Fleet Post Offices. All US civilian mail to military post offices has to originate at a US Post Office. All APO's and FPO's have their own list of contraband depending on the country in question. Some of the Iraqi prohibitions are no pork or pork by-products, no alcoholic beverages, no Bibles in large numbers, no pornographic material of any kind, no questionable political material, and one I found the most amusing, no horror comic books. The are also size and weight restrictions. The sender also has to fill out a customs form. * * *
