This is looking like a train wreck. Bush can't back off from the June 30 because he has equated sticking to that date with standing up to terrorists.

I think they will end up with an "interim" interim government, with the selection of the actual interim government postponed for sixth months.

Unless the security situation deteriorates further, in which case an interim interim government might not be feasible, and Bremer will have to serve as temporary interim interim prime minister.
