Chin, I think you should have failed your citizenship test. We have an electoral college and a senate that mitigates the tyranny of a simple majority. I think the election wanted by Sistani is one that would make Shia's in command. Do you want that?

Frankly, I think the damn place should split three ways. Let the Shias go to Iran, the Sunni's to Syria and the Kurds get a state - and then we pacify Turkey. If the Palestinians deserve a state so do the Kurds.

"Besides, Sistani has said clearly that he wants elections on the basis of one adult one vote. We have such elections here in the US. What is wrong to agree to that in Iraq? And besides who are we to agree or not agree?"
