Alert coalition forces have just prevented terrorist ships from blowing up the oil platforms at Basra.

Platforms pumping 1.7 mm bbl per day into transports.

Japan knows the economic consequencies on oil prices and on income for rebuilding Iraq if that attack had been successful.

Japan is out front with their support for the coalition.

France is not. Politics intrudes its ugly head. IMO the French are not all cowards, nor are they all stupid. They must be aware that a huge increase in oil prices would damage their economy. Chirac just will not give their Military an opportunity to show their true worth, or to learn valuable lessons from Iraq in how to deal with terrorists.

Chirac will not risk his job, his Party will not risk their jobs by supporting the coalition. It is a crying shame that their actions make all Frenchmen appear to be cowards and that France itself will lose face.

Saddam is gone, all thats left is street rabble to defeat. No tanks, no planes, no artillery, no missiles. Our kids will fight them , who else dares ?

Gun for sale, used once, dropped twice

I was only commenting on your statement that Not even Canadians get blamed for their treatment of Native Americans. I offered an explanation as to why this was so.

Canada has its share of blame for mistreatment of natives. The residential school program although possibly well-intentioned was a disaster. Also, in Newfoundland (although not part of Canada at the time) the Beothucks (sp?) were slaughtered until they became extinct in the 1800s.
