Question about writing to CD-R under Win XP Pro.

I always thought that once you wrote files to a CD-R, you could not add files.

I mistakenly added files to a CD-R under Win XP using the windows write wizard. The CD-R had previously been finished a month ago.

If this is true, what is the difference between using Cd-RW and CD-R? It seems like you can add files but can't delete or modify. Is that correct.

Under Win 98, I was under the impression that once you closed the CD-R, that was it, no more writing.

Is this different in Win XP?

Thanks in advance.
