Hillary, N.O.W. and the ACLU can collectively kiss my exhaust pipe, aye.

I realized that the basic idea would be an affront, if we were talking about the USA, Canada, England, Australia, etc. But, the situation in Iraq is grossly different. And, I'm talking about a wrist or ankle band that looks more like an attractive "..bangle.." bracelet than anthing else. It could be easily designed so that if you took it off it wrecked the RF-tag inside.

It's a temporary situation that would have a fixed end date of 00/00/2006; or before that if the new Iraqi govenrment felt secure and voted an end to it. In the meantime, if you belong (citizen or invited/approved guest) there, it would simply be a reasonable means of allowing a quick and unobtrusive scan to determine one's identity. It could even be used for issuing food, water, or other services, etc., just like we would use a debit card over here. They wouldn't need carry a wallet or a purse, etc.; just indicate (..under the women's garb..) that it's on the wrist or ankle - and it can be scanned from a foot or so away without touching the person at all.

If they are legit, and they somehow break it (..not too likely..), they get a free ride to a local cop shop, government office, or army depot to have it removed and receive a new one - an the datebase would be suitably corrected.

If they don't have one at all, they get the same escorted FREE ride. The "..goodies.." get hooked up with a bracelet and the "..baddies.." get a oneway ticket to the hooskow if they are armed, or to the appropriate border crossing or airfield for deportation if they are bogus.

Apart from that, anyone found wearing a ski-mask does not pass 'GO' regardless - they go straight to jail for further review.

It's time to quit with the BS and get serious about this stuff. It's quite clear that much of the Horsepucky going on is being done by non-citizen insurgents.

I'm much in favor of obtaining a special ID to be able to get on the airplane here without all the hassles and delays. And, if all of a sudden the USA was swamped with wacko-raghead gun-toters and bomb-throwers, I'd be willing to wear a scan-bracelet for 3-to-4 years ( wih a fixed end date ) if it made it real easy to sort out the "..invaders.." from the rest of us. I wouldn't like it, but I'd do it to protect the sovereignty of the USA.

Once Iraq is stable, more and more of their people will become totally intollerant of the "..baddies.." and rat them out on sight. In fact, they could set up a reqrd program (tax credit, whatever) for doing so, Until you get to that point there needs to be some form of reasonable control, and the RF-tags works for me.

John :-)
