The debate over the pictures about the flag draped coffins is fascinating. Another lesson in psychology 101 I suppose.

The official government line is apparently to preserve the dignity of the fallen. This seems more than a little shallow to me. What is undignified about a coffin, especially carefully draped in the stars & stripes?

""'Quite frankly, we don't want the remains of our service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice to be the subject of any kind of attention that is unwarranted or undignified,' said Molino, a deputy undersecretary of defense.” "

Raymond > I couldn't get the video to run. Which isn't particularly troubling to me.

It should be. Download Windows Media Player. It's worth it. No flashes. No rockets being fired. No pods under aircraft. Real explosions or what certainly looks like explosions. One after the other, as the building came down. Big ones. No bullshit. I promise you that you'll be amazed. I haven't seen them before nor have I seen any reference to them.

And, if you haven't seen a video of WTC 7 going "poof" that's also worth the whole download effort. The whole building came down in three seconds. And dead straight. They could have kept a plumb-line on the side wall and it wouldn't have wavered.

Raymond > What is far more important in my mind is the unresolved issue of the metallurgical anomaly of melted A36 structural steel

Yes, I am aware that there were eutectic abnormalities which indicate that temperatures greater than those achievable by kerosing burning in a confined space were present. Also, I believe pools of molten steel were found in the basements. So I'm fully in agreement that what took place during the collapse of the buildings was "more than meets the eye". However, I do wonder about the timing mechanism for a complicated series of explosions or thermite ignitions. In "normal" demolitions, wires are run all over the place which, clearly, was impossible at the WTC. So, one imagines that some form of radio control must have been used.
