Yep.. But it was also Nasser intentional lies about having scored some brilliant victory over the Israeli air force that convinced him that if he didn't participate and Israel was defeated, he would be seen as having disserted the Arab cause..

But even Jordan recognized they could govern the West Bank in 1989, after Arafat's intifada. So they conveniently relinquished all claims to the territory they had officially annexed in 1948.
