Patricia. 2000 years before the word Palestinian even existed the state of Israel existed pretty much in the same place as it is to day. If as you say this land belonged to Palestinians for generations this seems to suggest to me that you believe that previous ownership of the land is the determining factor as to who should be living there. if that were the case then Israel belongs where it is. Gaza or Phillistine as it was known a few thousand years ago was always separate from Israel but west bank from looking at old maps used to be part of ancient Israel. There have always been Jews living in what is now Israel. Course we could say that the land really belongs to the caananites a race that no longer exists...they apparently were there in small numbers even before Jews.

I guess whoever can keep the land are the owners...like everywhere else.

I believe that the real problem in that area is a religious one.
