When I became a widower many years ago, I recall how I found it curious that the rest of the world continued on its merry way. For me, my life had been turned upside down, but it affected the world not a whit. I would walk the streets and drive in my car and somehow I expected everyone else to be feeling my pain, but they do not. So I understand the need of folks who have lost a loved one to share all that with the rest of the world, as opposed to hiding it. Seeing the coffins being brought home and knowing that others see the same images is in some crazy weird way comforting for the people who grieve.
