Exactly. It's a non issue. At most, they have an upset young soldier 33 years ago just back from the hell of combat slightly exaggerating his protest. The fact is Kerry still had his medals so obviuously he didn't throw them away. Therefore, he hasn't lied, at least not in 33 years.

Hey, back in 1971 most of us did a lot of stuff we wouldn't do now. Even my straight-laced religious brother was joining protest marches and waving red flags. We all smoked pot and many did harders drugs too. SO what?

GW Bush did a ton of things he's hiding inclufding cocaine, going AWOL and knocking up girls. The difference is, that Bush still lies about them but Kerry doesn't. Also, consider that Kerry was a major war hero just back from combat. If he wanted to BS the press a little, hell why not? Give a war hero a little break. The rightwing wants to crucify him for that? Bring it on. Compare Vietnam records and measure the men.

I think we can expect Bushie negative ads showing a 23 year old Kerry with longish hair saying angry things about the US govermnment. Doesn't matter if he was 100% right, or even 75% right, they're going to try to smear him with it, despite the fact he was a hero who killed more than 20 enemy and took three wounds and saved lived during combat. same thing they did to McCain in 2000, tried to make him look like a nutty traitor. Shame, shame, shame, rightwingers.
