Drudge is a major league liar. Maybe not everything he puts out is a lie but he has a huge batting average for lies vs. truth. In the film "Shattered Glass" about the New Republic reporter who made up stories from phony sources, only 60% of his stories were untrue, so 40% were ok. Trouble is, in the world of journalism you're expected to be 99% accurate. You're supposed to check and double-check sources, give the target of the story his-her chance to respond, check the two stories and then arrive at the truth. If you cannot, you don't print it. If you can, then you retain your credibility. Drudge has no such professionalism. He is a tool of the smear campaign of the RNC and will literally print anything. He has about 8 phony Kerry stories to his name this past year alone. If you want to pay attention to proven liars go ahead, but this is the kind of thing which erodes our ethics and values in this country.
