Then you may be one of the few Reformers that I know who would admit that... actually, that's not fair but I know plenty of reformers in the west who drifted away from the PCs who could think of nothing positive Mulroney contributed to the country.

Manning capitalized on anti-Mulroney think - made it an institutional emotion, and to some degree this has overshadowed the real legacy Mulroney left. When I talk to regular voters the subject of Mulroney frequently comes up and darn it all if many of them can actually name anything that he did wrong. Really quite funny.

Ironically, Orchard capitalized on anti-Mulroney think too.

BTW I am not suggesting Mulroney's government was a shining example of how to run the country, just that perceptions are interesting animals, difficult to tame.

I wonder how Stephen Harper will manage his own personal beast?
