When the company’s Los Angeles distribution center needed a new roof, it was still reeling from California’s electricity delivery and pricing problems of 2000 and 2001. Determined to install the most energy-efficient roof possible, Frito Lay was ready for a state-of-the-art solution. Enter: SIT SIT’s SR2001 integrated photovoltaic roofing solution combines 12 flexible photovoltaic modules, factory-laminated by SIT to Sarnafil EnergySmart Roof membrane to form each 10-foot by 40-foot flexible solar panel. During roof installation, the panels are hot-welded onto the new Sarnafil EnergySmart Roofand wired to the building’ electrical system.
