That foam works fine. I needed it along with a lot of caulk when I installed vinyl replacement windows over the thin aluminum originals in my house. With a drill and a thousand tubes of foam I could insulate my walls as well... Actually, replacing the original windows with double pane low-e replacements made a huge difference in this house. The solar heat gain from the old windows made the house stifling. Today, despite the 100 degree heat wave, the interior of the house was a pleasant 76.
