Chinu, The fact is Kerry got caught in a lie.

In 1971, he wanted people to think he had thrown away his medals. In 1984 and ever since, he has wanted people to know he had kept his medals.

Wrong. The only reason Kerry joined the Vietnam war protesters was because he decided that was the only way he could win elected office. It was his first straddle of a major issue. First, I'm so gung-ho for this war that I enlisted...then, I now realize that my former service could win an election IF I please liberal MA voters by pretending to throw away my military medals.
As President, his habitual straddle strategy would result in paralysis by analysis and indecision on future of War on Terror.

In that scenario, the terrorists will gain an advantage that will be devastating for U.S. citizens.

Now let Bush explain 1972 and Cheney release his energy papers. Will hunting buddy Scalia let Cheney off today? Have the Enron energy gouging deal memos already been shredded anyway? And why won't the press make GW explain where he was in 1972? All those record they released don't explain anything.

Kerry realized that the war was wrong...very late. That is not forsight, that is coming in at the nth hour.

That goes to show his foresight and vision, something that a leader needs to have.
