What archival system do you like? Do you have a dedicated external hard drive?

Yes. As soon as I started venturing into digital with my photography, which was back in my "film then scan" days, it became clear to me that I didn't want to mess will a gazillion CDs for deep storage. So I got two of the largest external firewire hard drives then available, the LaCie 500 GB Big Disks: lacie.com
One is for daily use, the other is off site backup.

When I run out of space I intent to buy the 1 TB Bigger Disk
lacie.com
for home use, and the two 500 GB drives will become my off site storage. If you do the math, you'll realize it's actually a pretty decent storage bang for the buck.

Not everyone has a need for this much hard drive storage, but two hard drives (one for off site) is the way to go, I believe. Knocking on wood. (g)

I only use CDs for hard copy image delivery to clients, and advise them to back up, ASAP.
