The Priory of Sion is probably a fabrication. It strikes me as an elaborate aristocratic prank.

But that whole thing about Rennes le Chateaux and the treasure of Father Sauniere is intriguing. And the authors get into some pretty arcane history that is interesting, but I think their attempts to connect dots are a stretch.

BTW, I don't think the authors fabricated anything, they were duped about the Priory of Sion. Who planted those documents in the Biblioteque Nacional <sp>? Some bored aristocrats, I assume...
