You want me to watch a movie to get a sense of what went on in Vietnam? Please tell me you aren't serious. As to what war is I have a little training in that department as a veteran. Your trained to handle chaos. Things don't just happen. Besides an innocent being killed in a firefight is not an atrocity. A bomb missing it's target and falling on a wrong target is not good but it's not an intentional atrocity. Lining up civilians and mowing them down is and was prosecuted. There was not widespread and rampant atrocities and that is just plain BS.

Watch "Apocalypse Now"??? You judge reality by a Hollywood director's interpretation? Talk to a Vietnam Vet who's not running for President if you want to learn the truth about the soldiers & that war. I'm sure there were more questionable incidents than most Americans would find comfortable, but that is the nature of war & it was also the result of the draft in 1960s. The majority of veterans have stated their opinion that John Kerry's congressional testimony about atrocities was false...he himself said that he was only "repeating" stories from fellow vets. He should not have uttered the words as truth to a worldwide audience, if he had not seen the incidents with his own eyes. There is no doubt that this is the liberal forum. Within 15 posts, I've received a pop star & La La Land quoted as experts on warfare. Every Kerry supporter probably watches Left Wing as well.
