JF, You can't seriously argue, that in the same timeframe, Bush's behavior was better.

I wouldn't have a problem if Kerry and the media only settled for that. Getting wounded in Vietnam is indeed a lot braver than getting to serve in the National Guard out of nepotism.

But of course, the accusers aren't satisfied with just that, so they go further and accuse Bush of not even showing up for simple domestic duty. Now Kerry is joining them so that he can continue keeping the more controversial parts of his Vietnam record in the dark.

So did he or did he not claim to have tossed his own medals over the fence? Should it matter? I'd say it should, though Kerry's defenders would rather use his service as a justification, or rather, an excuse for him to flip-flop once again over his attitude toward Vietnam and the vets who served in the war.
