Phil, I'm sorry to say that my posts are still infected with the mysterious SNIP virus which seems to have a predilection for me and apparently no-one else.

Apropos gold and the USD etc, I don't see any run-away markets happening now. The debt which concerns the "gold school" and is the basis of $450 forecasts is of no real interest to those of the "growth school" who, clearly, can produce "growth" from nothing like a genie with a magic lamp. Anyway, the Japs and Chinese buy up all the debt so what the hell. And we still have the magic interest rate number up our sleeve --- a number which can make the market go up or down just as we wish. So, in my opinion, gold is really up against it because although it may offer insurance for a rainy day it is not known to offer protection against a storm of economic bullshit.
