I think Bush thought, in his John Wayne World, we'd catch Osama in no time, Iraq would be a cakewalk and he can spend money like a "drunken sailor" because God told him it would be all right. He doesn't need to have any press conferences because he works for God, not us, and checks in with God on a regular basis. Osama has been Bush's best friend. Where would he be without Osama? Probably not in Iraq. He wouldn't be the "War President". He'd just be the moron he was beginning to look like prior to 9/11. Not that Osama cured his intellectual shortcomings, but we all rally to our President when attacked, for a while.
