Gold futures close at six-month low
June gold closed at $385.90 an ounce, down $13.20 for the session. China's move to reduce bank lending in certain sectors and market expectations for its potential effect on metals demand prompted the biggest one-day plunge in gold futures since Jan. 29. Prices closed at a six-month low. July silver closed down by 5.9 percent at $5.885 an ounce -- its lowest closing level this year. July copper dropped 5 percent to close at $1.1765 per pound. June palladium lost 8.8 percent and July platinum fell 4.4 percent. -briefing.com
