And is not recognizing its source analogous to not being aware of the sun? I knew you could prove that God exists (the Christian God, at least) and that morality was Absolute! Just like the doctor proved 5-headed munchkins exist when he found meat in the dead man's stomach. God exists because God gave ALL of us an innate sense of right and wrong. God would not have done this if He didn't exist. How simple life can be... "Yes, Germany had their own opinion, and even came up with a "final solution" Was it wrong for those pesky fundamentalist Allies to impose their morality on the Germans?" Oh, we are back to that: All people have an innate sense of right and wrong so long as they don't speak German! Therefore God exists; otherwise we would all speak German! Amazing that Greg's moral opinions come from God, while a German's moral opinion must have come from the German God! Who will decide whether or not a moral opinion comes from God? We will of course! If we decide that it does, then we have "proven" God exists. "that belief "that all people had basic human rights and freedoms" was grounded in a God who grants these "rights". Take away that ground and you have nothing left" Sorry, it is the State which grants those rights and it is the State that provides police and military to safeguard those rights. The Constitution grants those rights and the Constitution was written by men after much thought and effort. It is true that they left "Creator" in the declaration of Independence, and it is true that many of them were Deists. But whether Jefferson inserted it in the Declaration for conscientious or for pragmatic reasons is irrelevant. The main thing is that we DID insert it. It was a human OPINION; and it got us past the arbitrary and capricious rule by priests and kings--both representing the desire of some or another "God". Thus we enshrined human rights and dignity--until the people of the Sun God with their superior numbers and their superiority with primitive weapons will sweep down from the steppes and enslave us at the bidding of THEIR Almighty One.
