Well, you go from not having squat to being financially comfortable. It changes your "deep seeded convictions", if you know what I mean.

Perhaps that's an element of it. But mainly, most people just "grow up" to the ways of the world, and come to recognize that idealism is great when you're youthful, but doesn't serve you well in life.

One of the major attributes of great leaders is vision. You can't have vision without idealism. If there wasn't idealism, the Bill of Rights nor the Constitution would have been drafted.

Your lack of idealism is a sell out.

My big argument on capital punishment was, "If I wouldn't be willing to throw the switch, then I shouldn't be willing to support the concept". Of course, when I grew up, I realized that not only would I be "willing" to throw the switch, I would be absolutely HONORED BY THE OPPORTUNITY in many cases. The difference? With experience, one learns that some people behave in such a way that they must forfeit their right to exist.

So what you're saying is that you've become capable of murder. Nice!
