I guarantee you that those moving from "not having squat" to financial comfort weren't empowered by liberal spending programs, but by the power and freedom of the individual. Maybe that's why their "deep seeded convictions" change, because they realize that the dependence seeded by the liberals grew into weeds and thorns that choked off any will to break the cycle. I could not have gone anywhere without some liberal help along the way. I bet the same for you. Maybe the difference is I remember those days. Or maybe some folks never went through that phase.
