In exchange for several thousand US dead and wounded, untold tens of thousands of dead women and children and hundreds of billions of dollars, not to mention a major drain on resources that should have been fighting the war on terror and a sharp decline in US influence and prestige, I expect more than an illiberal theocracy and confirmation of WMD elimination job that the UN inspectors had already accomplished. It is hard to think of a series of decisions more badly fumbled than the invasion of Iraq -- from start to "finish" it has been a disaster.
