Another thought: One trend (da big one) was 4 years long (but took 5 to confirm it was over); one was 3 years; and the last... still on-going, is in its 4th year. Is this Gold rally in the old age home already?

Mike:

Thanks for the charts.

-"Which brings us back to the more important question right now - whether Gold is reversing its trend or not."

Well it is clear to me that gold has not begun to reverse its intermediate or short term trend. For the moment it is in freefall and while some gold stocks are into resistance areas that may arrest their decline, if the resistance doesn't hold, we are not near the bottom. Anytime the long term trend is running opposite the intermediate term trend, it is legitimate to ask whether the long term trend is reversing. It is possible that it is, but by no means is the evidence clear. I prefer not to take a predetermined position on this and instead I will let the charts be my guides. All I can say for sure is that as of tonight, I see little evidence that the intermediate term down trend is reversing and I doubt we will see it without some consolidation.
